Procurement teams must ensure that submittals specify inherently flame-retardant polymers (such as Trevira CS or modified polyester yarns) rather than post-treated alternatives. Post-treated fabrics are coated in flame-retardant chemicals that degrade during laundering cycles. IFR yarns maintain safety ratings permanently.

Sizing and Track Installation Guidelines

Curtain weight affects track specification. Heavy drapes (above 400 g/m²) require high-gauge aluminum tracks with metal axle rollers. Standard plastic carriers will seize or crack under heavy commercial loads. Maintain a structural margin of safety by sizing tracks at 1.5x the actual panel weight.
